Make it about the video worth sharing.
Some videos make more sense when you watch them together. It might be a place for the next road trip, an idea for dinner, or something funny a friend sent. Find that clip in TikTok before starting the car display setup so the first thing you show is the thing you wanted to share.
A prepared clip is especially useful for a short parked wait. You know where to begin, you can replay the part that matters, and nobody has to lean over a phone to catch a caption before it disappears.
Choose the car first, then open TikTok.
Connect your iPhone while the car is parked. In Dashow, open Cast to Car and choose the car under Display. Start the system screen-sharing session, then switch back to TikTok. Open the selected clip and check whether its picture appears on your compatible receiver.
Use the iPhone to pause, replay, or move to another clip. The flow shares the picture from the phone; it does not imply that TikTok becomes an app you can operate from the car’s touchscreen.
Let vertical video stay vertical.
TikTok videos often use the full height of a phone. On a wide dashboard screen, the natural result can leave space on either side. Keep the original proportions so text, faces, and the edges of the action remain visible. Filling the whole display is not worth losing part of the clip.
Check sound as well as the picture. A joke, explanation, or music cue can change the meaning of a short video. Set a comfortable listening level on the actual car setup before replaying the part you wanted everyone to catch.
Wide videos can fill more of your car display. Vertical clips keep their original proportions, with space at the sides.

Open the clip before the broadcast and finish any account steps first. Consider a Focus mode and close private pages or messages you do not want visible. Screen sharing can include what appears on your iPhone, including the moments when you leave the video.
Stay with the content you intended to show, then end the session when that moment is done. Cast to Car can be useful for one good clip; it does not need to turn the whole parked break into an endless feed.
Distinguish TikTok’s TV feature from screen sharing.
TikTok documents a Cast to TV feature for its supported receivers. That is separate from selecting a display and starting iPhone screen sharing in Dashow. If the car is not listed inside TikTok’s TV feature, use the instructions for the actual screen-sharing route instead of mixing the two flows.
For a missing picture, compare a personal video in the same sharing setup. If that works but a particular TikTok clip does not, capture permission or source behavior may be the difference. If no content appears, check the receiver, reselect Display, and restart the sharing session.
